Who We Are

Simply Detailed Wedding & Event Planning is a wedding planning business located in Springfield, Illinois. Simply Detailed serves the Central Illinois Area from Champaign, Bloomington, Peoria, Jacksonville, Quincy, Litchfield and all areas in between.

Lyn and Marsha decided to collaborate their talents in late 2017. They have both successfully planned and executed weddings and parties for a combined 15+ years. Together they have both creative and logistical talents that make them a dynamic duo. Their passion is to design, create and execute their clients' vision into reality!  All the while making everything, Simply Detailed! 

Marsha LaRocca

Marsha's event planning passion started with her two girls thirty years ago. She loved seeing their eyes light up with an unimaginable experience. She transitioned from birthday parties to showers to graduation parties for family, friends & coworkers.  She has her own creative design company, MJL Creations, where she can create signs, clothing, drinkware, and much more. Her proudest and most challenging accomplishment is designing her daughter's wedding that was published in the 2018 Fall-Winter issue of The Knot's regional magazine!  After her daughter's wedding was published, she joined forces with Lyn and they have been creating beautiful weddings ever since.  Marsha loves weddings and cannot wait to help couples plan for their "Big Day"!

Lyn Young

Lyn was the Wedding Coordinator and Event Manager for seven years at Greene Gables Inn Bed & Breakfast, before it closed in 2021. She  worked with catering, event production and management at the Inn. She loves the logistics with timelines and spreadsheets for each event.. It was actually Lyn's husband, Spencer, that suggested she and Marsha start a wedding planning business.  She and Marsha have helped couples plan everything from the time they book their venue to the day after their walk down the aisle. Lyn has also been involved with event planning with different nonprofit organizations in downtown Springfield.  She is the mom of four active boys, so getting to plan weddings is a needed break from sports and "boy stuff"!  Lyn loves weddings.  Who doesn't love, LOVE.  She cannot wait to help couples plan for one of the biggest days of their lives!

Everyone wants a individual and unique wedding with a personalized touch.  We can take your Vision Board and turn it into a reality.  Our very own Marsha LaRocca designed her daughter's wedding and the design was published in "The Knot Magazine-Missouri-Kansas" Fall-Winter 2018 Edition.  Let us help you design your very own Simply Detailed dream wedding.

Simply Day-Of Wedding Package

Basic “Day-of” Services with up to 8 hours on site help. We will provide you with an extra set of hands to help you get your wedding to finally fall into place and look amazing when you arrive. We will arrive and provide complete décor styling of all wedding ceremony & wedding reception elements and decor. Whether you have a lot or a little, we will make sure your vision is fully executed. We will NOT stay for the ceremony or the party and tear down services are not included.

Simply Implemented Wedding Package

“Day-Of” Services with up to 10 hours on site coordination. This package is for the couple who has completed their planning (or plans to do so) and is looking for Day-Of help to execute their vision. We will help with ceremony & reception decor set-up and rehearsal & ceremony coordination. We will get you down the aisle, get your party started, but will NOT stay to help tear down. This allows you to relax, get ready, and not worry about any coordination or decoration on the day of your wedding.

Simply Constructed Wedding Package

“Day-of Services with Design Planning” with up to 10 hours the day of your wedding. We will help with the complete look & design of your wedding & help secure last-minute vendors. We will create your wedding day timeline, and help with ceremony/reception decor & coordination. We will get you down the aisle, get introduced into the reception, and get dinner started. Reception teardown is NOT included. This allows you to be part of the design process without the stress of pulling it altogether.

Simply Arranged Wedding Package

“Day-Of” Services with up to 12 hours on site coordination. This package is for the couple who has completed their planning (or plans to do so) and is looking for Day-Of help to execute their vision. We will help with ceremony & reception decor and rehearsal & ceremony coordination. We will get you down the aisle, get your party started, and stay to help throughout the evening. We will stay to take down all reception decor to make sure you don't leave anything behind, leaving you worry free.

Simply Designed Wedding Package

“Day-Of & Design Planning” or "Partial" Services with to 12 hours on site the Day of. This Package takes the services in the Simply Arranged Package and adds design help, and helps you turn your Pintrest Board into the wedding you have been thinking about since you got engaged! This allows you to be part of the design process without the stress of pulling it all together.

Simply Detailed Wedding Package

“Full-Planning” Services with up to 16 hours on site the Day-of. Our Simply Detailed Packages offer complete creative direction and styling coupled with management and planning for every aspect of your event. It allows you to enjoy the process while we handle all of the small, yet important details. This level of service includes complete guidance in selection and management of your entire vendor team, full event design, and complete day-of management of all details on your wedding day!

Simply Parties Package

Whether you would like to throw an anniversary party, office party, birthday party or shower; we can help you finding the best location, vendors and decorations for your event. It can be as little or as much as you need. We will help take the stress of you to make planning as Simply Detailed as possible.

We will serve as your personal event concierge to plan every detail with you and execute those plans to produce a remarkable and extraordinary event that is Simply Detailed and unique to your personal style!
