She loved seeing their eyes light up as she created unforgettable experiences, and that joy sparked a lifelong love for planning and design. What started with birthday parties eventually grew into showers, graduations, and celebrations for family, friends, and coworkers. Through it all, Marsha’s creativity, attention to detail, and love for bringing people together have always been at the heart of everything she plans.
In addition to her love for events, Marsha is the founder of her own creative design company, MJL Creations, where she designs custom signs, clothing, drinkware, and more. One of her proudest—and most challenging—accomplishments was designing her daughter’s wedding, a day filled with personal touches and thoughtful details that was later featured in the 2018 Fall-Winter issue of The Knot’s regional magazine. That experience reinforced her passion for weddings and inspired her next step: partnering with Lyn Young to create Simply Detailed Wedding & Event Planning.

It was Lyn’s husband, Spencer, who first suggested that she and Marsha start a wedding planning business, and that idea quickly became a reality. Since then, Lyn and Marsha have helped couples plan everything from the moment they book their venue to the day after they walk down the aisle. Her experience extends beyond weddings, too; she has lent her expertise to nonprofit organizations in downtown Springfield, helping create unforgettable events that combine creativity, style, and flawless execution.
Outside of planning, Lyn is the mom of four energetic boys, which means her days are filled with sports, homework, and all the chaos that comes with raising an active family. Planning weddings is her joyful escape—a chance to immerse herself in love stories, creative design, and meaningful celebrations. She loves weddings—after all, who doesn’t love LOVE?—and she’s passionate about helping couples bring their vision to life, guiding them through one of the most memorable days of their lives with care, calm, and a little bit of fun.
